The story of Testlab is shaped by consistent growth, innovation, and a drive to redefine quality in everything we do. What began as a specialized testing laboratory has grown into an internationally recognized partner for product testing, certification, and market access.

 

May 1994

The idea from 1992 became reality: Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG wanted to make its existing know-how about product testing available to the market.

  • 1 EMC Testing Laboratory
  • Accreditation according to DIN EN 45001 
  • 450 m² laboratory space
  • 4 employees

1997

  • Second new building phase of 900m² for the expansion of the EMC laboratory and the construction of a
    • Radio test laboratories
    • Environmental simulation laboratories and
    • Equipment safety testing laboratories
  • Competent authority for the EMC Act
  • Technical Service of the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA)
  • FCC-approved EMC laboratory, USA
  • 12 employees

2004

  • 3000m² of laboratory space for EMC, radio, environmental simulation and device safety testing
  • All laboratory areas are
    accredited according to the quality standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Certification of quality and environmental management according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Accredited EMC testing laboratory for General Motors and Ford
  • Testing facility of the Federal Railway Authority
  • Testing facility of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency
  • Notified Body under the R&TTTE Directive
  • Telecommunications Certification Body of the FCC in the USA, TCB
  • 44 employees

Opening of one of the most modern laboratories for testing lithium-ion batteries and modules, with a size of approximately 950 m²

Phoenix Testlab is preparing for a generational change:
