Phoenix Testlab accredited as a test laboratory for PROFINET
Phoenix Testlab GmbH, the independent test laboratory and certification institute based in Blomberg, Germany, was accredited by PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI) in October 2007 as a test laboratory for performing PROFINET conformance tests for PROFINET IO devices in Conformance Class A.
This means that the laboratory is authorized to perform numerous series of tests, for example in the fields of protocol, interoperability, and hardware. The device description file and documentation are also checked for consistency for the device. Only once the test object has successfully passed all the tests does the manufacturer receive a positive test report, which can be used to apply to the PI for a certificate of PROFINET conformance.
The use of the same test software and test cases in all test laboratories ensures uniform global test quality and guarantees the problem-free use of certified devices in multi-vendor systems.
